SS12 Dessert Boots

Being a massive fan of the dessert boot for men I was excited to come across a new innovative brand called Pippo Footwear. Although very much a UK brand it is clear they use European and Scandinavian countries as inspiration for their designs.

 Dessert boots are very much on trend in UK fashion and sticking with this current trend Pippo Footwear has developed not only great designs but also practical and affordable shoes.

                                          

The Major shoe is my personal favourite of the collection (as seen in image); with its classic dessert boot look it’s very much on trend for SS12. Not only is the Major shoe a great design they are also made really well using 100% leather. Although I prefer the sued boot in an adult size, the Major shoe is cutest in leather for a child, as they are more practical and easier to maintain, whilst still keeping its great design. The Major Pippo shoe keeps within the traditional dessert boot with the material used for the sole. The real crepe rubber is used in the same way as it is for the classic Clark dessert boot. This gives the product a really natural, characterful look and with its stitching around the welt edge it gives the shoe a real distinctive look. 

These shoes are definitely made to last and retailing at £45 it’s an affordable price point for a great pair of children's shoes. Not only do they look great on boys, they look equally as good on a girl. (As seen in the image) I must say I am a huge fan and have already made sure both my son and daughter have a pair each. I am sure the Major is going to be a huge hit this SS12 and look forward to seeing them all over the UK soon.

                                                                                           

I also recommend the Cassidy Hi Top that will bring both fun and colour this spring summer. They have a very Scandinavian look and look extra cool with skinny jeans. I really love the brand and look forward to seeing even more exciting designs in the future.

Melissa & Doug Wooden Toys - Christmas Wish List

Christmas is coming and already we have had the children telling their parent s what collection of toys they want from our selection of wooden toys. Since introducing the wooden toys both into our store and online the feedback from parents has been phenomenal and just shows you the classics never die.  From old school abacuses and pound a pegs to the new wooden cutting foods, its seems as though wooden toys are a real winner. Our collection of Melissa and Doug toys have been a huge hit and we thought we would share some of the best sellers and sure to be Christmas gifts with you. Not only great fun but all these wooden toys have great educational value to them and really help with toddler’s development.

This cutting food set has all kids entertained around the toy table and seems to be on all their Christmas lists if there not lucky enough to have them already.

Our classic sound puzzles are our best seller and always seem to put a smile on  a child's face.

SS12 Trend Report - Sneak Peek at Mini Rodini

I know we have just entered into AW11, but with LFW taking place its hard not to get side tracked! Sienna Loves Kai did thier SS12 buy in July this year so its lovely to watch the show and be able to see similarities in the range we picked.

The strong trends coming through for Spring Summer 12 has to be the tribal / Safari Look and the 1920s inspiration. I am also loving the warm shades of orange, the freshness of the sea foam greens and the classic monochrome tones that can be identified throughout.

One Brand at SLK has next season down to a tee! Mini Rodini SS12 range has managed to corporates all the trends in one fun packed collection. We look forward to see it in store early next year.
